Suzaku Observation of HESS J 1825 − 137 : Discovery of Largely - Extended X - rays near
نویسندگان
چکیده
We observed the brightest part of HESS J1825−137 with the Suzaku XIS, and found diffuse X-rays extending at least up to 15 (∼ 17 pc) from the pulsar PSR J1826−1334. The spectra have no emission line, and are fitted with an absorbed power-law model. The X-rays, therefore, are likely due to synchrotron emission from a pulsar wind nebula. The photon index near at the pulsar (r ≤ 1.5) is Γ= 1.7 while those in r = 1.5− 16 are nearly constant at Γ= 2.0. The spectral energy distribution of the Suzaku and H.E.S.S. results are naturally explained by a combined process; synchrotron X-rays and γ-rays by the inverse Compton of the cosmic microwave photons by high-energy electrons in a magnetic field of ∼ 7 μG. If the electrons are accelerated at the pulsar, the electrons must be transported over 17 pc in the synchrotron life time of 1900 yr, with a velocity of ≥ 8.8× 10 km s.

Observation of Very High Energy Gamma Rays from Hess J1804−216 with Cangaroo-iii Telescopes
We observed the unidentified TeV gamma-ray source HESS J1804−216 with the CANGAROO-III atmospheric Cerenkov telescopes from May to July in 2006. We detected very high energy gamma rays above 600 GeV at the 10σ level in an effective exposure of 76 hr. We obtained a differential flux of (5.0 ± 1.5stat ± 1.6sys) × 10 (E/1 TeV) cmsTeV with a photon index α of 2.69± 0.30stat±0.34sys, which is consis...
متن کاملJ 1825 - 137 : A pulsar wind nebula associated with PSR B 1823 - 13 ?
HESS J1825–137 was detected with a significance of 8.1 σ in the Galactic Plane survey conducted with the H.E.S.S. instrument in 2004. Both HESS J1825–137 and the X-ray pulsar wind nebula G18.0–0.7 (associated with the Vela-like pulsar PSR B1823–13) are offset south of the pulsar, which may be the result of the SNR expanding into an inhomogeneous medium. The TeV size (∼ 35 pc, for a distance of ...

The field of the extended TeV source HESS J1804−216 was serendipitously observed with the Chandra ACIS detector on 2005 May 4. The data reveal several X-ray sources within the bright part of HESS J1804−216. The brightest of these objects, CXOU J180432.4−214009, which has been also detected with Swift (2005 November 3) and Suzaku (2006 April 6), is consistent with being a point-like source, with...
متن کاملSuzaku Confirms Ngc 3660 Is an Unabsorbed Seyfert 2
An enigmatic group of objects, unabsorbed Seyfert 2s may have intrinsically weak broad line regions, obscuration in the line of sight to the BLR but not to the X-ray corona, or so much obscuration that the X-ray continuum is completely suppressed and the observed spectrum is actually scattered into the line of sight from nearby material. NGC 3660 has been shown to have weak broad optical/near i...

We discover a new faint shell-type radio supernova remnant (SNR) G353.6-0.7 based on radio ( 1420 MHz from the Southern Galactic Plane Survey (SGPS) and 843 MHz from the Molonglo Galactic Plane Survey), infrared (8 μm from the GLIMPSE Legacy Project and 21 μm from the Midcourse Space Experiment), and X-ray (0.1 keV 2.4 keV from the ROSAT survey and 5 20 keV from the INTEGRAL survey) data. The S...
